Diverting construction and demolition waste from landfill
Construction and demolition business Grün received funding to put towards machinery to recover waste and divert it from landfill.
Grün purchased a concrete crusher, shredder, transportation equipment and excavator. This specialised machinery has helped the business save around 30,000 tonnes of waste from its three biggest projects going to landfill.
Grün diverted around 15,000 tonnes of timber, concrete and steel from landfill during its Hutt Hospital project, and around 17,000 during its Masterton Hospital project.
