Project summary

To subdivide approximately 6 hectares of land in Papakura, Auckland and redevelop that land by:

  • demolishing buildings, structures, and infrastructure
  • constructing a housing development comprising approximately 338 residential units on approximately 338 of the allotments created by the subdivision
  • constructing commercial buildings on approximately 400 square metres of the land
  • constructing or installing infrastructure or structures associated with the subdivision, the housing development, and the commercial buildings
  • developing land for public open space.

Location

The project will occur on an area of approximately 6 hectares of land at 470 and 476 Great South Road, Papakura, Auckland and 2 and 8 Gatland Road, Papakura, Auckland.

Reasons for decision

The project will:

  • generate approximately 1086 direct full-time equivalent jobs over an approximately 4-year period; and
  • increase housing supply through the construction of 338 residential units; and
  • progress faster than would otherwise be the case under the Resource Management Act 1991 standard processes.

Any actual and potential effects on the environment, and proposed measures to avoid, remedy, mitigate, offset, or compensate for any adverse effects, can be appropriately tested by an expert consenting panel against Part 2 of the Resource Management Act 1991 and the purpose of the Act.
