On 1 July 2021, it became illegal to spread more than 190 kilograms of synthetic nitrogen per hectare per year on any grazed land. This includes pasture, annual forage crops and any other land where animals graze. The regulations affect individual farms differently, so these guidance documents have been tailored to different audiences:

• arable cropping, forestry and horticulture

• dairy farms

• farm support services

• livestock farms.
