This fact sheet sets out changes to designations under the Resource Management Act 1991 and the Resource Management (Forms, Fees and Procedures) Regulations 2003 introduced by the Resource Management (Consenting and Other System Changes) Amendment Act 2025.
The changes extend the default designation lapse period, amend the definition of network utility operators to include ports and simplify the designation assessment process.
