Risk Index Tool release notes

The table below lists each new release of the Risk Index Tool since it was made publicly available in September 2025. Information is provided on any changes that affect the tool’s risk score calculations or the user experience.

  • First public version of the tool. 
9 September 2025 Release 1.3
  • Patch to land parcel validation post initial release.
    • An error was found in the initial release that prevented farms from being saved. This patch fixes this issue.
3 November 2025 Release 1.4
  • Routine release #001
    • Fixed error causing some parcels of land to produce a negative area value when selecting land parcels to define the farm boundary. The problem occurred to some parcels which possess both concave and convex curved boundaries. The fix affects the farm area figure displayed when selecting parcels. Neither the initial problem nor the fix affect the final farm area calculation or calculated risk scores.
    • A further fix to a previous error which prevented farms from being saved.
    • Several backend changes that should not affect the user experience.
2 March 2026 Release 1.5
  • Routine release #002
    • Tooltip added next to the farm area indication when selecting parcels to create a farm and text changed in the confirmation box when confirming selected parcels to note that the estimated farm area displayed while selecting parcels may change after confirmation.
    • Resolved error causing the map to freeze when adjusting farm or block boundaries. When the error occurs, the problematic boundary adjustment will be reverted and an error message should appear.
    • Several backend changes that should not affect the user experience.
