Setting New Zealand's second Nationally Determined Contribution: Summary of submissions

Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are how countries contribute to the global temperature goal of the Paris Agreement, to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

The Ministry for the Environment sought feedback from the public to inform the Government’s decision on NDC2 in late 2024. The Ministry received 337 submissions and these responses helped inform the Ministry’s advice to the Government on the NDC2 target. This report summarises the findings from the opportunity for public feedback.

The Government announced NDC2 in January 2025.
