Section 32 report: Proposed National Environmental Standard for Sources of Human Drinking-water

This report considers alternatives to a National Environmental Standard for Sources of Human Drinking-water to determine if the proposed standard is the most appropriate way to reduce the risk of contaminating drinking-water sources. It also includes information on costs and benefits, an update on the content of the proposed standard, and a response to key submission themes.

Information from the section 32 report formed the basis for the Regulatory Impact Statement and Business Compliance Cost Statement (BCCS) which were considered by Cabinet during decision making on the NES in November 2006.

For more information, see the webpage on the NES for sources of human drinking-water.
