Aotearoa New Zealand’s 2035 international climate change target Opportunity for public feedback

The Government is required to set its second international climate change target under the Paris Agreement (known as a Nationally Determined Contribution or NDC) by 10 February 2025. The Ministry for the Environment is providing New Zealanders with an opportunity to provide feedback on New Zealand’s international climate change target before Cabinet take final decisions on NDC2. Under the Paris Agreement, countries need to consider a range of factors when setting this target. The Government is particularly interested in feedback on these factors, including how these different factors should be weighed.

This document provides more information for those wishing to provide feedback, including the questions that are being asked.

The opportunity for feedback opened on 19 November 2024 and will close at 12.30pm, 8 December 2024. Find out more and have your say
