This report summarises submissions received, outlines officials’ recommendations in response to those submissions, and presents the final decisions of the Minister Responsible for RMA Reform on the following national direction proposals:
- proposed National Policy Statement for Infrastructure
- proposed amendments to the National Policy Statement for Renewable Electricity Generation
- proposed amendments to the National Policy Statement on Electricity Transmission.
The National Policy Statement on Electricity Transmission has been renamed the National Policy Statement for Electricity Networks.
This report is structured in two parts.
- Part 1 sets out officials’ final recommendations and the Minister’s final decisions on the proposals.
- Part 2 provides the original supporting analysis and recommendations that informed those decisions, as prepared under section 46A of the RMA for the Minister in September 2025.
