New Zealand’s Updated National Implementation Plan under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants 2026

This updated National Implementation Plan sets out how New Zealand is implementing its obligations under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. It describes the measures in place to manage, reduce and where feasible eliminate the release of persistent organic pollutants (POPs). This includes those POPs added to the Convention since the previous update in 2022.

The plan provides an overview of New Zealand’s regulatory framework, monitoring activities, and ongoing and planned actions to support continued compliance with the Convention.
