This National Policy Statement on Electricity Transmission (NPSET) sets out the objective and policies for managing the electricity transmission network under the Resource Management Act 1991. The NPSET was gazetted on 13 March 2008.
Note: There are some recent cases and Board of Inquiry decisions about the application of Policies 10 and 11. Any council giving effect to the NPSET should obtain independent legal advice to inform their decision making.
