This document summarises the submissions received during the public consultation on proposed amendments to the wetland regulations within the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management 2020 and Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Freshwater) Regulations 2020, as set out in the Managing our Wetlands discussion document.
A total of 262 individual submissions, and approximately 5,860 form submissions from Forest and Bird, were received on the proposals during the consultation period from 1 September to 27 October 2021.
This document also provides an analysis of the submissions, and makes recommendations to the Minister for the Environment on proposed amendments to the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Freshwater) Regulations 2020. This report and recommendations was prepared in accordance with section 46A(4) of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA).
