The  report examines how a number of relatively new technologies might impact on New Zealand’s economy. It applies scenario and quantitative modelling to four technologies, assessing their possible impacts on New Zealand’s economy, public health, and environment.

The models in the research are purely illustrative and are not forecasts of actual impacts, as the scenarios are subject to very specific assumptions. While these assumptions are based on the best available estimates in the literature, they are subject to a considerable degree of uncertainty. Therefore, the simulation results are able to provide only a general picture of the potential economic impact on specific sectors or activities.
