Collective action success in New Zealand

This research, carried out by the Strategic Policy Team at the Ministry for the Environment, looked at 23 case studies of collective action groups to examine their likelihood of emerging and enduring in the long-term. Many of the known success factors for collective action were strongly present in the groups studied, although a few success factors were generally absent. Several principles are suggested that government could use to increase the likelihood of collective action success.
