The one-stop shop for Fast-track applications is opened for business from February 7.
A standalone application portal and information website will be live to accept applications.
Any person or organisation can apply to have projects that will deliver significant regional or national benefits considered for Fast-track approvals from February 7.
Bringing this service to life has been a major cross-agency effort, involving a multi-disciplinary team of delivery specialists, legal and policy advisors, project managers, and communication experts.
The team has worked closely with the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and numerous other agencies to make this happen said the General Manager of Delivery and Operations, Ilana Miller.
“This has been a complex and high-pressure project, requiring deep collaboration across central and local government. The teams have gone above and beyond to deliver a platform that will support Fast-track approvals for projects of national and regional significance. Their expertise, dedication, and professionalism have been outstanding, and I’m incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved” she said.
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is administering the one-stop shop platform and the expert panel process; MfE is the legislation owner and manages the Ministerial referral process.
Any queries about the Fast-track process can be directed to info@fasttrack.govt.nz.
The Fast-Track Approvals Act already includes a list of 149 projects that can apply directly to an expert panel. These projects will be able to take their plans to the next step when the one-stop shop opens.
