Teviot Valley Water Quality Monitoring Programme Review

This catchment report was prepared by Craig Simpson (Watershed Solutions) for the Teviot Valley Water Care Group. It was commissioned under the Access to Experts initiative, a Ministry for the Environment-funded service delivered by Beca and NZ Landcare Trust.

This report was prepared to help the Teviot Valley Water Care Group understand existing stream health in its catchment and improve its current water quality monitoring programme.

It summarises existing upstream and downstream water quality data across 6 streams and 12 sites according to attribute bands from the NPS-FM. It recommends next steps for improving water quality monitoring methodology including tailoring methodology to the testing purpose and timing of sampling to establish baseline conditions.
