Planning for development of land on or close to active faults: A guideline to assist resource management planners in New Zealand

This document provides guidance on land use planning approaches for land that is on or near an active fault and includes case study material based on Wellington City Council and Kapiti Coast District Council experiences. The report was prepared for the Ministry for the Environment by Janine Kerr, Simon Nathan, Russ Van Dissen, Peter Webb, David Brunsden and Andrew King of the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences.
