The Ministry for the Environment commissioned MWH, now part of Stantec, to carry out a National Waste Disposal Survey to gather data.
The National Waste Disposal Survey report expands and updates the Ministry’s data and information on waste disposed at non-levied disposal facilities.
This report presents the findings of site surveys carried out at 13 landfill sites including five class 1 landfills, four class 2 landfills, three class 3 landfills and one class 4 landfill. The report also presents data on the number of non-levied landfills currently operating and the volume and composition of the waste disposed of at these sites.
