Factors influencing decisions to innovate with new organisms

This report identifies the key factors that influence businesses’ decisions to innovate using new organisms in New Zealand. The aim of the project was to determine whether regulation for managing risks is an important determinant in such decisions, compared with other factors such as the development costs or management and staff expertise. The report covers both genetically modified and non-modified organisms that are new to New Zealand.
