Please see below an OIA request for information regarding the Klondyke storage proposal.

The Fast-track Approvals Act 2024 includes as a Schedule 2 listed project the ‘Klondyke Storage’ proposal from Mid Canterbury Water Storage Limited (MCWS): Klondyke Storage | Ministry for the Environment

I appreciate MfE has released some information in relation to this project at the above website. I am seeking additional information in relation to the proposal, if available and able to be released.

Can you please provide the following information in relation to this proposal, if it exists:

• Copies of any correspondence (including briefings and presentations received, and meeting notes) and records of any meetings (including notes or minutes) in relation to the fast-track Klondyke Storage proposal between the Ministry for the Environment and
  • Mid Canterbury Water Storage Limited (MCWS), and/or
  • Ashburton Lyndhurst Irrigation Limited (ALI), and/or
  • MHV Water Limited (MHV), and/or
  • Irrigation NZ, and/or
  • Rangitata Diversion Race Management Limited, and/or
  • Manawa Energy Limited, and/or
  • Ashburton District Council, and/or
  • Environment Canterbury, and/or
  • Kānoa / the Regional Infrastructure Fund (MPI)
  • The EPA
• Copies of any reports, analyses, or briefings prepared internally (or by consultants) at/for the Ministry for the Environment in relation to the fast-track Klondyke Storage proposal.

For the avoidance of doubt, should any document in part be covered by this request, the request includes the document in its entirety.
