A judicial review has been filed by Forest and Bird in relation to the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management 2020 (NPSFM) and the Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Freshwater) Regulations 2020 (NES-F).
The proceedings challenge amendments made to the NPSFM and NES-F in December 2022 and February 2023 in respect of natural inland wetlands, and in particular the new consent pathways provided for in the amendments. The Minister is defending the claim.
The High Court has directed that any interested parties are to signal their interest to the Court no later than 11 August 2023.
