Government releases Fast-track listed projects

On 6 October, the Government announced its decisions to list 149 projects the Fast-track Approvals Bill’s (FTA Bill) Schedule.

These projects will be referred to Expert Panels for evaluation after the Bill becomes law.

About the FTA Bill process

The Government has announced its decisions to list 149 projects in the FTA Bill Schedule.

The ‘delegated Ministers’ responsible for these decisions, as proposed in the FTA Bill, were the Ministers for Infrastructure, Hon. Chris Bishop; Transport, Hon. Simeon Brown and Regional Development, Hon Shane Jones.

Cabinet has confirmed these decisions.

The Minister’s decisions were based on recommendations from an independent Advisory Group and advice from officials.

The assessments also took into account the proposed projects’ size, scale, location, estimated job creation, and economic benefits.

Any projects not listed in the Schedule will still be able to apply to Ministers for referral once the Bill is enacted.

The Expert Panels administered by the Environmental Protection Authority will assess the projects and make final decisions.

Details on which projects the Government has decided to include in the FTA Bill, and full list of projects is available below.
